Divide & Conquer: A Rule for Local Radicals
[This post is pretty pragmatic considering it was written by Candice Schwager, however, two things: 1) Where was Candy's personal responsibility for amping up (read igniting) the negativity in Houston Politics. 2) We think Candice HAS read Rules for Radicals, tho we question her ability to actually use it to her advantage.
As for the negative politics in Houston this past election cycle, it is interesting that after waging a one woman shadow campaign that was highly negative; incredibly divisive both within the GOP & to the broader electorate; often times lacked credibility; and in all honesty probably hurt the candidate she was supporting (@Guthrie4Sheriff) more then it helped him; she wants all of the Houston GOP to sit around the campfire holding hands and singing Kumbaya. Kind of like the wolf complaining that the sheep don't ever invite them over for brunch ;-) .
Before we get too carried away, there should be no doubt in anyone's mind that Candy 100% supported Republican Louis Guthrie for sheriff and 100% hates Democrat Sheriff Adrian Garcia. However, what does it say to Candice's contribution to Guthrie's campaign when Sheriff Garcia sends her a "Thank You" for her contributions to HIS campaign and invites her to his campaign party (read Victory Party)? Just saying sometimes your MVP is on the opposing side. Kind of a slap in the face, eh Candice? ]
