Curiosity: You Didn’t Land There! [Originally posted chicksandpolitics.com]

Where we’re you when Curiosity made its touch down on the Red Planet? Will that be anything like “Where we’re you during the White Bronco Chase?” I was at Bennigan’s having a beer and mesmerized by the chase. But enough about that. I was in real time hanging with my best 700 friends on Twitter! We were tweeting every moment! It’s weird that everything in life is so digital. My digital life?
Twitter has ruled the year’s political scene in ways Facebook never dreamed. Twitter seemed non-sensical to me until I started my own paper om Paper.li and actually began reading the links Tweeted by the stellar crowd I follow. The Patriots! Such a tight knit group of several hundred thousand plus! I saw an image recently, Twitterholic..and ran for cover! Where’s Twitter Rehab? Gulag? Gulag is Twitter jail, for the liberals who’ve never been stuck in Gulag..unable to tweet! Several conservatives I know can’t seem to stay out of Gulag! Michael! which brings me back to the First Amendment! Why do liberals care so much what we are tweeting to each other! Atty4kids was taken hostage..the liberals couldn’t risk a virtual unknown Tweeting things that made them look bad to the 300-400 people reading my tweets! Thin skinned! Ya think?
At any rate, back to Curiosity! I wonder if Obama saw that tweet..you didn’t land there? Living adjacent to NASA, I was ROTFLMAO! If you missed the 12:35 am landing in real time in Twitterville, you can catch the video footage, but you missed a historical Twitter moment! It’s so fun to hang with 700 of your closest friends in pajamas! Check it out!

  1. White Bronco chase? Seriously? —Have another Beer Candice!

With so many singularly important events in near history, being the same age as Candice, I can only imagine what kind of mind/person choose OJ's slow "get away" in his white Bronco as a pivotal "where were you moment."

For instance, I remember exactly where I was at when I found out about a plane hitting the first tower of the World Trade Center on 9/11 - as well as watching the second plain hit, I can remember going to the office of a co-worker, a New York native who continued to work that morning so she would not think about her family members working in the WTC towers to tell her I had just watched one of the towers collapse. Fortunatly her family was not in either towers when they went down.

I can remember where I was out when news broke of the first gulf war, when the first space shuttle launched, and Michael Phelps became the most decorated olympian in history. I remember where I was at when news broke of the Oklahoma City Federal Building Bombing. I remember where I was at when Princess Diana died, the Challenger exploded and a whole host of other moments that defined "our" generation.

White Bronco—Its sad what led up to that slow chase, but is that a profound moment that was so "monumental" that it should be ingrained in our collective memories? How about this one, Candice—Do you remember where you were at when the first Mixed Race man was elected POTUS?
