In today’s ultra competitive legal market, the tactics and strategies used so successfully six to eight weeks ago will not achieve the same results. Why? Because law firms across the Nation ave learned these strategies, hired marketing consultants to ensure their firm site contains every bell and whistle you do. This has resulted in a relative boon for marketing / SEO “experts” seeking to cash in on the Twitter, Facebook, Google Plus, and Pinterest rage! If you want to remain “king,” you must keep abreast of this rapidly evolving field. You must know new creative means of establishing you firm as a Brand, rather than the Traditional “we’the top tiered, blue chip SuperLawyers.” those designations are revered by peers because they understand the significance. Not so with non-lawyers and clients seeking services in small to mid-sized firms. Certainly you want your legal clients to have confidence in choosing you, but having passed that hurdle, if you want to convert an inquisitor to a client, your site and marketing campaign MUST speak clearly to him or her as to how you can solve their problem.
The pros in this exploding new field recommend that your website contain no more than 40% “me” information and 60% client centered information. There are several keys to the Kingdom, some of which carry equal weight. However, as Bill Gates has reiterated for 16 years, Content is by far the most important. Personal success in reaching the number one Google spot through consistent, original, engaging blog content has been 80% of my seo success. Some “pros” will tell you that first page ranking cannot be achieved absent extensive linking strategies (Cha Ching), purchasing expensive ad space (Cha Ching), re-designing your site and maintaining it on their hostage servers (Cha Ching), or that open source template software will never get you there (wrong). I have debunked every argument by reaching #1 in 6 weeks with a .php blog that I designed after teaching myself WordPress, a Google favorite. I’ve yet to spend a dime on any form of advertising, consulting, Adwords, Adsense, or anything else. I’ve yet to concern myself with linking and while I must send my blog posts into cyberspace social media platforms, such as Digg, Delicious, StumbleUpon, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Google Plus, my secret is writing. But quality is key! It takes time to consistently be researching, reading, and thinking of topics I know are cutting edge. Most lawyers simply do not have the time. That is where I become your strongest asset.
Google is brutal, but by far the platform of choice for high organic rankings. Google has become more popular than Bing or Yahoo as the preferred search engine. Google’s techies are constantly making changes in algorythms so clever people can’t game the system with spam. Like us, Google wants to ensure that queries lead to answers surfers seek that are accurate, as judged by several factors. My full throttle dive into the seo, marketing, and social media has left me with a short list of must do’s. With Google owning YouTube, Gmail, and Plus, they’ve cornered the largest market. This now means that like it or not, at a minimum, you need:
Gmail: must have for Plus and YouTube
Youtube channel where you update Q&A for clients, rotating videos (bots can’t read flash or video, meaning that they’re a must, but avoid using a video vault with tons of thumbnails to watch. Shrinking the size of the video does not help, as the same amount of HTML coding must be there regardless of video size),
Plus: while reports show that few people are using plus vs 800,000 FB and 400,000 Twitter, hitting the Plus even on your blog increases seo exponentially
An interesting, current, authoritative blog. You have to feed the machine, lest you drop from the radar and lose valuable, hard gained ground
Social Media Sites to post entries that people read. The best I’ve found for marketing are Plus, Digg, and Twitter. Linked in is fair and my jury is still out on StumbleUpon and Delicious, though I use them. Twitter is amazing. People seriously want to learn, increasing the odds your link will pique interest and link followed. Pinterest is a trademark / copyright lawsuit waiting to happen. As you move up the Twitter food chain, create a daily paper on Paper.ly by strategically following. You’ll awaken each day to a feast! Others read it too, wanting to see their posts in lights.
Niche sites are a must to garner traffic you seek, but you won’t gain clients without aggressive call to action tools. Peoplesimply won’t call unless you tell them to over and over again.
Ive listed other methods in my blog, such as limiting images, flash, video, and meta tag strategies. I believe PPC is expensive and though necessary for some businesses, can be short sided and short lived! By far, if you do nothing else blog and title well. Blogging has been the secret of my rank success. I was told by the experts that it was impossible to rank a WordPress blog (php), it takes a minimum of 4 months to reach front page, new blogs take longer, I had to spend money to rank, and a whole bunch of other must haves–proved them all wrong. Having blogged for Atty4kids and used social meda like crazy, this little blog reached #1 on Google and has kept its coveted high rank after 6 weeks with not a penny spent on ads, no linking, new, and wholly based on quality information–CONTENT!
I am living proof content is king. Authority is the measure of Web 3.0 and Klout says I am an authority on Attorney Marketing, social media, and SEO. I am also an authority on conservative politics such that news wires follow me, as well as Politicians for Senate and Congress in the U.S. and various States Nationwide. This happened in a few months and my score has consistently remained 50-55. A good Klout score is 10. Above 50 is sometimes higher than major news networks. My aggressive campaign for Louis Guthrie for Harris County Sheriff helped raise his Klout score to 36 in 6 weeks, above that of Sheriff Garcia and all candidates. Articles written about the DA race hit the first page of Google overnight! Http://www.chicksandpolitics. Google has my fingerprint and most blogs land front page Google the next day. After a few months, twitter has deemed me in the top 1.5% of 200,000,000 users with a rank of 66,000. That’s what social media can do. The American Bar back linked my nonprofit for special needs children, shooting it to #1 while blogging. The ABA is the highest legal authority in the U.S., landing me at number 1, past 30 year practitioners with 14 months and green. So, are you ready to take action. You’ll fall fom your chair at my rates. Call me. [Phone Number Removed].
